w1 p1 - theme
I often have found myself overwhelmed in an instance where I have endless choices where it must be decided on just one option. Lately, I have leaned towards the more simple route, rather than going back and forth, changing and adjusting things to make it just right. Decision-making has been a struggle of mine for some time so teaching myself to choose minimalism has made things a lot easier on me and decisions less overwhelming.
Another reason I made this choice for my theme is my passion for plants. I have a vast collection of plants, both indoor and out, that fill my home with life. Most are tropical plants and with the amount that I have inside, they have made their own little microclimate within my room. I love how adding just one plant to a space can make such a difference, though that "one" has now turned into dozens in my case.
The color of most of the text is similar to the color of terra cotta. Almost every plant I have is potted in terra cotta pots so I found it a fitting color to pair with the plant image. The background is white which is honestly one of my favorite colors simply because of how neutral and light it is. White goes with every color and you cannot go wrong with it as opposed to black which can sometimes make writing become difficult to read on top of such a dark background.
Now that I'm thinking about it, this theme is almost identical to the theme of my home.
White walls, white background. Terra cotta pots, terra cotta colored text. Plants.
The minimalist/clean feel of your blog is wonderful! The pop of color against the white background makes it very easy to read. The color green is also appealing to me, as green is my favorite color. Your intentions were felt in the design.
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing! I would be lying if I said that that second I saw this blog my breath didn't come a little easier. The minimalist, yogi, all natural vibe is prevalent and truly relaxing, even thru a screen!
ReplyDeleteHello Jen! I really appreciate your choice of page theme. I especially liked the reason why you chose the font color; it is just like terra cotta pots color! I am on the same page with you when it comes to making choices. Too many selection overwhelms me. I also love white too, its simple, its bright, it natural, and it never goes wrong! I think we might have pretty similar taste :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jen! I love the minimalism and simplicity of your blog! The rustic burnt orange color is such a nice touch to your neutral background. I definitely feel like how calm of a vibe I get from visiting and reading your page!
ReplyDeleteHey Jen, did you discover minimalism and then choose to adopt it into your life or was it something you discovered useful on your own? I'm also a big fan of minimalism as well. Removing clutter in my daily life has helped remove clutter in my mind.

ReplyDeleteMinimalism! I've been ripping into everything the past year and half. What a feeling tossing old memories, letting go, saying goodbye to the past. Simple and clean.
